Christian Women's Job Corp...

Please bring any gently used clothing, shoes, purses and accessories to the salon on your next appointment. A room in the salon has been devoted exclusively to housing a cloting closet to help the Christian Womens Job Corps in their quest to assist women to get back on their feet and off public assistance. Any gently used clothing, shoes, purses and accessories, of any size - including childrens, would be greatly appreciated and, since CWJC is a 501 (c) (3) Corp., it is also a tax deductible contribution. It is nice to see the women, with the help of Carolyn, a wardrobe specialist and a volunteer for the program, dressed professionally for success with the clothing that has been donated. Please pass the word on to your friends...the warm fuzzy feelings are guaranteed!

Teaching at IHE...

I had the distinct pleasure of teaching a technique I call "Ribbons" at International Haircolor Exchange in Scottsdale, AZ September 11th and 12th. Here I am explaining how the Crystal Film is placed and how the colors I have chosen to use on the model's hair work together to create depth and dimension by reflecting more light in some places, and absorbing light in others.

Below I am explaining how the model presented and the techniques used to create the final look. I am accompanied by Vickie Cavanaugh, left, and Debbie Allen of IHE.

Below I am on the stage with model Janine, Vicki and Debbie, just before Janine walks the catwalk.

Getting Started, there are a few things you will need to know about booking an appointment online. Here they are:

  • Current Client - If you have been in before:
You already have an assigned login and password in the system, and if you give me a call or email me, I will send it to you. You definitely do not want to click on Create an Account - this would duplicate your information and possibly create errors with any current appointments you have booked. Once you receive your login information, go to the Appointments page, log in, select your service, and follow the rest of the instructions; you should receive a confirmation number immediately, as well as in your email shortly.
  • New Client - If you are a new client, and have never been in before:
Click on Create an Account; select your service, then fill in the requested information; you should receive a confirmation number immediately, as well as in your email shortly.
  • When selecting a service:
If you will be having your hair colored or highlighted, select the Haircolor or Highlighting and Lowlighting group. Then you may select a haircolor or highlighting/lowlighting service with haircut or with styling; for instance, depending on your gender, you will either choose the service with woman's haircut or with woman's styling or with man's haircut or man's styling. If you have any questions about which type of service you need to book, based on your needs, I will be happy to answer your questions and assist you in booking your appointments. Within the Highlighting/Lowlighting group, you may choose from Heavy, Medium or Focused area, with haircut or with styling.

Heavy means you want to see that color, whether it is lighter or darker (highlighting or lowlighting), as the predominant color
Medium means you want to see a medium amount of that color
Focused Area is for the partial area from your temples across the top of your head, back to the crown area.

If you wish to get your hair colored or retouched and have highlights added or retouched during the same appointment, you should first select Highlighting/Lowlighting and choose Highlight Focused Area w/any Color Service; then go to the Haircolor group and make your choice of haircolor service, with haircut or styling (make sure you select correct gender for correct amount of time - no gender bias here - it is through my experience that I just know it takes more time for women's hair). If you have any questions about which type of services you need to book, or their order, I will be happy to answer your questions and assist you in booking your appointments.
  • Don't be shy about booking a consultation....
If you are a new client, or have never had your hair highlighted or colored or are wishing to make a substantial change in your color or style, a consultation is recommended first, so the correct amount of time is allotted for the service. If you would like to have your brows tinted during your color appointment, make a note in the comment box for me. If you have any questions, please email me at any time. I will be happy to help you in any way possible.
